40cm x 1600cm x 15cmIn 2008 Gary won a prestigious Leverhulme Trust award for a 12 month residency at the University of Southampton. It led to a series of oak pieces which Gary called Dryonautica (nautical things made of wood) which used poems about the sea, shanties and sea songs. That same year Gary won the Jerwood Contemporary Makers prize and designed this installation for the main gallery at the Jerwood Space, Bankside, London.
